Privacy Policy
We collect as little as possible, we never sell it, and this page explains exactly what happens to what we do collect.
The plain-English summary
- If you join our email list, we store your email address and use it to send you emails.
- We use basic analytics to see which pages are read. We do not build profiles on you.
- We never sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing.
- You can leave at any time, and ask us to delete everything we hold.
Who we are
This website is dotech360.com (“DoTech360”, “we”, “us”). If you need to reach us about anything on this page, email hello@dotech360.com.
What we collect, and why
Information you give us directly
- Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter (the Signal) or request a free resource. We use it to send you the resource and the emails you asked for. That is all.
- Your name, email and message, if you contact us. We use these to reply to you. Our contact form opens your own email application — it does not send your message through a third-party form service.
- Order and billing information, if you buy a product. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not see, store or have access to your full card details at any point.
Information collected automatically
- Basic analytics — which pages are visited, roughly where in the world visitors are, and what kind of device they used. This is used in aggregate to work out which guides are useful. It is not used to build a profile of you as an individual.
- Server logs — our web host records standard technical information such as IP addresses and browser type, for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies — small files stored by your browser. See the section below.
What we deliberately do not collect
We do not run advertising trackers, we do not use cross-site behavioural advertising pixels, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers. If that ever changes, this page changes first and we will say so in the newsletter.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We use them for two purposes only:
- Essential cookies that make the site function — for example remembering that you have dismissed a notice, or keeping you logged in if you have an account with us.
- Analytics cookies that help us count visits and understand which content is being read.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work, though some conveniences may stop remembering your preferences.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination company may set its own cookie to record that we referred you, so that any resulting purchase is credited to us. That cookie belongs to them and is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. We do not receive your personal details from those companies — only aggregate information about whether a referral resulted in a sale. Full detail on our affiliate disclosure page.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to operate the site, and only for that purpose. That means:
- Our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its data.
- Our email service provider, which stores subscriber addresses and delivers the newsletter.
- Our payment processor, if you make a purchase.
- Our analytics provider, for aggregate visit statistics.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose information, we will do so only to the extent required.
How long we keep it
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your record. Contact correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to the conversation. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete what we hold, subject to any records we are legally required to keep.
- Stop sending you email — every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights — for example under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, or South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act. We will honour any such request regardless of where you are. Email hello@dotech360.com and we will action it.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to subscriber and customer data is limited to those who need it. That said, no system is perfect, and we would rather say that plainly than claim otherwise. If a breach ever affected your data, we would tell you promptly and directly.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date below. Material changes will also be announced to newsletter subscribers.
Want your data removed?
One email and it’s done. No retention flow, no “are you sure” five times.
